Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about permission the kind we quietly wait for without realizing it. The kind we assume will come once life feels calmer, the kids are older, or everything finally looks the way it’s “supposed” to. We tell ourselves, one day, without noticing how many days pass in the meantime.
Here’s the truth I’m learning: that permission doesn’t arrive. We give it to ourselves.
Right now might feel unfinished. A little messy. Maybe even uncomfortable. Still, right now is enough. You are allowed to want more without having all the answers. You’re allowed to change your mind. You’re allowed to grow, soften, stretch, and rest sometimes all in the same week.
This season of my life isn’t about having a grand plan or making bold declarations. It’s quieter than that. It’s about paying attention. Noticing what drains me and what fills me back up. Letting go of things that no longer fit, even if they once mattered deeply. Choosing myself in small, honest ways instead of waiting for the “right” moment.
Motherhood, partnership, creativity, ambition none of these disappear just because one takes the lead for a while. There is room for all of it, including you. Reclaiming space for yourself doesn’t mean you’re abandoning anyone. It means you’re remembering that you’re part of your own life too.
If you’re in a season where you feel like you’ve been holding your breath, consider this a gentle exhale. You don’t need to prove anything. You don’t need to rush. You don’t need to have it all figured out.
You’re doing better than you think. And you’re allowed to keep becoming.
With Love,
Tia 💛
